Quantum Readiness Strategy & Roadmap

Know your quantum risk. Plan the migration.

Quantum computers will break the RSA and ECC encryption most systems rely on, and data stolen today can be decrypted later. Adana Technologies scores your quantum readiness, inventories your cryptography with PQCReady, and delivers a migration roadmap your leadership can fund.

Sample quantum readiness scorecard with fictional data showing an overall score of 2.6 out of 10.
The readiness scorecard: one overall score and eight dimensions, from leadership and inventory to crypto-agility and migration.

THE PROBLEM

The threat arrives later. The exposure starts now.

Attackers can copy encrypted data today and decrypt it once a capable quantum computer exists. Records that must stay secret for years are already exposed.

NIST published its first post-quantum cryptography standards (FIPS 203, 204 and 205) in 2024. Its draft transition guidance (NIST IR 8547) proposes deprecating RSA and ECC after 2030 and disallowing them after 2035. Large migrations take years.

Most organizations don't know where their cryptography lives, which vendors depend on it, or which data to protect first.

HOW IT WORKS

Assess, inventory, plan, with an engineer at every step.

  1. 01

    Assess

Leadership interviews and a readiness score across eight dimensions.

  2. 02

    Inventory

PQCReady ingests your digital assets, finds the quantum-vulnerable cryptography and ranks it by risk.

  3. 03

    Plan

Data shelf-life analysis, migration waves, vendor checks and a roadmap with owners, budget and KPIs.

The inventory and migration plans live in PQCReady, so the roadmap stays current after the engagement ends.

WHAT YOU GET

What the deliverables look like.

Every screen below uses fictional sample data.

01

See where the vulnerable cryptography lives

The inventory from PQCReady, by asset type, with how much is quantum-vulnerable and the typical fix.

Sample cryptographic inventory showing 1,240 assets, 68 percent quantum-vulnerable.

02

Know which data is already at risk

Each data class rated by how long it must stay secret against how long migration takes, so you protect the right data first.

Sample data-at-risk table rating five data classes high, medium or low exposure.

03

A roadmap in migration waves

Four stages from discovery to crypto-agility, with a readiness target at each checkpoint.

Sample quantum readiness roadmap rising from 2.6 to 5.5 in 12 months.

04

A 90-day plan with named owners

The first leadership actions, from naming a quantum risk owner to a hybrid TLS pilot, each with an owner and a date.

Sample 90-day plan with five actions, owners and deadlines.

WHO IT IS FOR

Built for leaders who own the risk.

CISOs and security leaders

A defensible inventory, priorities and a plan the board understands.

CIOs and CTOs

Migration waves that fit your architecture, budget and vendor contracts.

CEOs, CROs and boards

A clear view of quantum risk exposure and what it takes to close it.

QUESTIONS

Before you ask

What are the five stages to quantum readiness?

Unaware (0–2): no owner, no inventory, quantum risk not on the risk register. Aware (2–4): leadership knows the risk; inventory and policy are starting. Migrating (4–6): high-risk systems are moving to post-quantum algorithms; vendors are on notice. Crypto-agile (6–8): algorithms can be swapped without rebuilding systems; inventory is continuous. Quantum-ready (8–10): RSA and ECC are retired from critical systems and new systems are post-quantum by default.

Which eight dimensions does the readiness score cover?

Leadership & Ownership; Cryptographic Inventory; Data Risk & Shelf Life; Crypto-Agility; Vendor & Supply Chain; Standards & Policy; Migration Execution; Skills & Testing.

Which sectors is it for?

Banks, insurers, healthcare, critical infrastructure, and state and local governments.

When will quantum computers break encryption?

No one knows the exact year. The risk to long-lived data starts now because of harvest-now, decrypt-later attacks, and migrations take years.

What is PQCReady?

Our PQC engineer at your fingertips: it ingests your digital assets, finds quantum-vulnerable cryptography, writes a migration plan for each asset and checks vendor answers. See it at https://labs.adanatech.com/pqc-ready/

Is there a shorter option?

Yes. A one-day Quantum Readiness Workshop or a focused cryptographic inventory are good first steps.

Do you perform the migration?

The engagement is advisory and produces the plan. Migration support and prototypes can be scoped separately at a fixed fee.
